What is AER?
AER stands for annual equivalent rate and illustrates the interest rate if it was paid and compounded once each year.
What is Gross
Gross is the annualised rate before deduction of tax at basic rate (currently 20%).
Base Rate
Bank of England Base rate: 3.00% as at 6 November 2008.
† For the savings account, the interest rate is 0% (Gross) if the balance falls below the minimum.
†† For the fixed term deposits, the interest rate is subject to meeting the minimum balance criteria and holding for the full term. For the fixed term accounts there is a reduction in interest of 1% (Gross) for early withdrawal .
